Bio He was a Greek in Egypt athlete of tennis, champion of Greece and Egypt, university professor and writer.

He was the son of Alexandra Dragoumi and Georgios Xydis. On his mother's side he came from the Dragoumi family. He studied political and economic sciences at the University of Athens, was an athlete of O.A.A.. Champion of Greece in the singles in 1933, in the men's doubles in 1934, in the mixed doubles in 1931, 1933, 1934 and 1935. He had many victories in the Greek championship and runner-up of Egypt in the men's doubles in 1932.

With the Greek national team he took part in the Davis Cup in 1933 and in the Balkan Cup in 1931. In the Eastern Mediterranean Cup, he had a second place in 1927 in the singles and a third in 1935 in the men's doubles.

He had participated in many domestic and international tournaments and events, such as the International Games of the Queen of Yugoslavia in 1931, the International Games of Romania in 1932, the International Games of Berlin in 1933 and others. Winner of the Harokopou Cup in the men's doubles in 1931 and 1932 with teammate Andrew Asthalter. Winner of Young Adults cup Tsitam 1929 where he defeated Varvaresos 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the final.

After the end of his athletic career he became a professor of Political Science - International Relations and International Organizations, at the "City University of New York". He had been an advisor to E. Averoff and an Adviser to the Greek Government at the UN. His sister was also the tennis champion Faini Xydi.
