Bio | Hanna was educated at the Los Angeles Men's College. He was ranked as No.1 senior player in 1955. In 1956, he lost the final at Eastern Clay court championship where Bryan "Bitsy" Grant defeated him. Until his last match, it was his only loss in outdoor senior play. In 1957, he died after he was beaten by Ronald Fieulleteau in the semifinal at the Eastern Clay court championship. He was the star of the early 1940s shows "Hires Root Beer Show" (radio) and "Spare Room" (TV). He was an actor, known for Once Upon a Tune (1951), Starlit Time (1950) and Bride and Groom (1951). As a baritone, he was well-known in the show business. Hanna had numerous appearances on radio and television programs. He was also a composer. In addition to films, he performed on the stage and in television. Joining ASCAP in 1952, his chief musical collaborator was Al Jacobs. |
