Bio | Maxime Janvier was already successful as a junior and was able to win first tournaments. In 2013, he participated in the French Open, the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open, where he made it only in the US Open in the second round. In 2014, he received again for the French Open a wildcard, but failed as in the previous year in the first round. His best finish is a combined 35th rank from January 2014. Janvier played in 2013 first tournaments on the ITF Future Tour. Just one year later he was able to win his first title both in singles and in doubles. In singles he has celebrated six titles so far and twice in the title. On the ATP Challenger Tour he had to wait a bit longer for his first successes. Until October 2016, he never got beyond the knockout stages. In Casablanca he was able to qualify for the main draw and managed surprisingly the entry into the final. There he met the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who was already a week earlier in a Challenger final. Janvier did not give his opponent a chance, winning the match 6-4, 6-0 and celebrating his first title on the Challenger Tour. In August 2017, he reached his best placing with 228th place in the world rankings. |
