Bio | In 1959 he won the Bournemouth Tennis Championship against William Knight, 3–6, 2–6, 6–2, 7–5, 9–7. Was also a finalist in 1965 at Beckenham at the Kent Championships against John Newcombe, 6-3, 6-1. In 1965 at South Orange he saved 10 match points against the world no.1, Roy Emerson, however, he finally lost the match 8-6, 10-12, 6-12. In 1966 he reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and lost to Fred Stolle. After 1968 he played in Grand Slam at the US Open in 1968 and 1969. Davis Cup player from 1957 to 1966 with the New Zealand team. He became a trainer and real estate agent at Winston-Salem. |
