Bio | He is a French tennis player. He is the son of former French footballer Dominique Lokoli. Lokoli plays primarily ATP Challenger and ITF events. Lokoli received a wildcard for the 2014 French Open men's singles qualifying draw. He won three qualifying matches and hence advanced to the main draw 1st round, where he lost to Steve Johnson. He was given a wildcard for the 2017 French Open where he lost in the first round to Martin Klizan. He made minor news by twice refusing to shake hands with Klizan after the match. Laurent Lokoli plays mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour. He has so far celebrated two single and one double victory on the Future Tour. In 2014 he won the double tournament in Blois on the Challenger Tour. His Grand Slam debut in 2014 at the French Open, as he played on the qualification to the peloton. In the first round he met Steve Johnson, against whom he failed just in five sets. In doubles, he and Tristan Lamasine received a wild card for the main draw of the tournament. As in the singles, the doubles already ended in round one, losing them in straight sets against Spanish duo David Marrero and Fernando Verdasco. After qualifying for the first time in the individual, he improved in the ranking by 76 places and was ranked 330th in the world ranking after the French Open. |
