Bio | Jan Smolinský is born in 1919 on his birth certificate. At one time, he was an excellent Czechoslovak tennis player. He won the Davis Cup Europe Zone in July 1947 together with the later Wimbledon winner Jaroslav Drobny (and Vladimír Černík) against Yugoslavia (4-0). Jan Smolinský trained Ivan Lendl. He spent his last years in the Home for Peaceful Old Age in Ostrava-Heřmanice. |
