Bio | The lefthander won the Men's Singles title at the 1907 Australasian Championships. He was also runner-up 3 times. He won the Men's Doubles title at the 1915 Championships, partnering Clarence Todd. At the time of winning his last Grand Slam title and his only one mixed doubles title (on August 18, 1923), he was 50 years and 347 days, which is the all-time record for men in tennis history! His mixed doubles partner was Sylvia Lance from Australia. Rice represented Australasia in the Davis Cup tie against United States in New York in 1913. He held the Queensland, New South Wales and Victorian Singles titles during his career, winning the Queensland title four times. |
