Bio | He was born from a doctor father. He was a French badminton and tennis player, he played at the Tennis-Club de Pau ( called Jeu de Paume de Pau in 1935) until the war. Then in Marseille from 1944, at the Club Sportif du Crédit Lyonnais de Marseille in 1949, and at the Racing Club de France in 1950. He started badminton at the age of 12, and quit his singles career in 1955, at age 35. He was treasurer of the Central Badminton Commission, from 1946 (then under the aegis of the French Federation of Lawn-Tennis), and again from 1978 (Federation in its own name - FFBA). He was named “Honorary Member of the FFBA” in December 1998. He also served as deputy commissioner general of the Racing Club de France, and was for a time Director of La Boulie. Finally, he was a member of the Friendly Association of Former Students of the Lycée Louis-Barthou in Pau. He was ranked for twelve consecutive years among the ten best French players; he was University world champion, champion of France Juniors, Finalist of the Critérium National in 1936; he participated in the mixed doubles of the internationals of France until 1962 (at 42, then with Anne-Marie Seghers; other partners at the beginning of the 1950s: Mme Hure then Josette Amouretti). |
