Bio | He was the son of Edwin William Throckmorton and Isabelle Bell. Throckmorton was a native of Rahway, New Jersey. He represented Woodbridge High School of that town when winning the national interscholastic title in 1915. This was Harold's first big victory on the courts. He won the Maryland State championship the following year. In 1916, "Throck" in company with George M. Church, toured the orient. In 1917, he starred in the national tournament, Watson Washburn being one of his victims. "Throck" also appeared in patriotic matches in 1917. |
