| Bio | A Yale graduate who played the game of doubles with polish and precision, Hackett and his capable partner Fred Alexander joined forces to win the U.S. Championships four times. As player-captain of the 1913 American Davis Cup team, he led the United States to a 3-2 triumph over Great Britain. His victory alongside Maurice McLoughlin in the doubles was pivotal in the American victory. He also became a central figure on the USNLTA Davis Cup Committee. |
