Bio During his tennis activity, he won two national junior double titles with Fausto Gardini (1947 and 1948) and as a junior he reached the singles final in 1950. Also in 1950 he won the "Coppa de Galea" in Vichy, repeating this success in 1952 at the "Monte Carlo New Eve Tournament". He took part in the Wimbledon (1953) and Roland Garros tournaments in singles,however, he was always stopped in the first round.

Acclaimed tennis author, columnist, and broadcaster, Gianni Clerici has covered tennis for over 40 years. As a sports reporter, he has written over 6,000 articles, mostly about tennis. His masterwork, 500 Anni di Tennis, has been translated into French, German, Japanese, Spanish and English (as The Ultimate Tennis Book). Clerici has been honored as Italian Playwright of the Year (1987), and the Best Italian Sports Columnist of the Year (1992). Clerici’s Divina is the definitive biography of French tennis star Suzanne Lenglen.

Clerici is the author of several books on tennis and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame as a Contributor in 2006.
