Bio | He was a French lawyer and politician. Son of Benoît Hipolyte Tixier, former intern at the Paris Hospitals, professor at the Clermont-Ferrand School of Medicine, former member of the University council, doctor at the Hôtel-Dieu and member of the board of directors of Les Houillères de Messeix, and Catherine Émilie Drelon, he is, through his mother, first cousin of Félix Drelon, deputy for Marne, and 5th cousin of the French diplomat and historian, André Artonne, and of the French lawyer and president of the Bar Association, Félix Chaudessolle. Appointed by decree dated September 11, 1893, second lieutenant in the 12th hussar regiment, upon leaving the special military school of Saint-Cyr (promotion of Sudan ), he pursued law studies which led to a doctorate. After graduating, he registered with the Paris bar where he worked as a lawyer at the court of appeal. He marries on April 25, 1898, in the town hall of the first arrondissement of Paris, and, religiously, on April 27, in the Saint-Louis-des-Invalides church, Marthe Marie Simon, daughter of the director of the stewardship of the 20th army corps in Nancy. He is running in the legislative elections in the second constituency of Clermont-Ferrand, on the list of left-wing Republicans. At the end of the first round, on April 26, 1914. He ran in the legislative elections of November 16, 1919. Having not been re-elected in the legislative elections of 1924, he retired from political life. |
