Bio He was a Swedish tennis player.
In addition to Sune Malmström and Harry Ramberg, Curt Östberg was one of the foremost Swedish tennis players in the period around 1930 before Kalle Schröder's breakthrough. He won 11 Swedish championships in singles between 1927-34 (of which 6 indoors). As a doubles player, he had his greatest success nationally with Harry Ramberg. The two won 12 Swedish championships in doubles (1927-1933). He also won 10 national championships in mixed doubles (1930-1941) of which 6 together with Sigrid Fick. He won the last two mixed doubles titles together with Birgit Gullbrandsson.

Among the merits, he defeated the German major player Gottfried von Cramm in 1933.

Östberg participated in the Swedish Davis Cup team in 1929, 1933-34 and 1936-37. His first match in 1929 was against South Africa in Saltsjobaden, where he and his teammates, Sune Malmström and Henning Muller, suffered a 5–0 loss. He played a total of 17 matches and won 6 of them. Three of the wins were in doubles together with Kalle Schröder. He was later non-playing team captain for the Swedish team, including in 1946 at the meeting against Yugoslavia which went to history as Wonder in Varberg.

Östberg made two appearances at the Wimbledon Championships, in 1929 and 1934, losing in the first round on both occasions.
