Bio | As a player, Brian Tobin was ranked among the top ten in Australia from 1956-62, but his most lasting contributions to tennis came off the court as he helped to take the game into uncharted territory. A visionary leader, he was a crucial figure in the evolution of “Open Tennis.” As President of the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia (1983-89), he played a pivotal role in a state-of-the-art Tennis Centre, revitalizing the Australian Open and restoring it to world prominence. He served as President of the International Tennis Federation from 1991-99, displaying superb diplomatic skills. |
