Bio He is a former professional tennis player from the United States.

As a teenager, Willenborg was the national leader in both singles and doubles. He was selected twice in the best selection All-American during his studies in psychology at UCLA. At the Universiade 1979 in Mexico City, he competed twice for the USA and won the silver medal. After graduating in 1983, he became a professional tennis player.

Willenborg enjoyed most of his tennis success while playing doubles. During his career he won 7 doubles titles and finished runner-up an additional 9 times. He achieved a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 13 in 1988. His career high singles ranking was world No. 50, which he reached on September 9, 1984.

His best single result in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the second round at the 1985 French Open, where he was inferior to Jimmy Connors, and a second round participation at the 1980 US Open 1987 the quarter-finals of the French Open. In mixed, he was in the quarterfinals of the US Open in 1987 and in the quarterfinals of the French Open in 1989.

After completing his tennis career, Willenborg worked as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch and later in a managerial role at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

In 2013, he was inducted into the USTA Florida Hall of Fame.
