Bio | Phyllis Dransfield's mother Minnie Congreve was one of the early tennis pioneers in the 1880s. She was fften listed as Peggy H. Dransfield, (Harrop) after her fathers name. Peggy entered every post-war Wimbledon from 1919 to 1929. In 1929 she limited herself to doubles only. Dransfield made a fine run to the quarterfinals in 1922. At that stage Irene Peacock lowered her colours 6-2 6-2. Peggy also made the QF in doubles that year at the Championships. In 1924 the highlight of her year was defeating American champion Molla Mallory 6-3 3-6 6-3 in the fourth Round at Stamford Hill in the London Championships. There is a reference to a P.
