| Bio | Mary McLean holds a degree in physical education (class of 1967) from Trinity University in San Antonio. She was a tennis coach at King High School in Corpus Christi, in 1971 she was named coach of the year by the Corpus Christi Tennis Association. Mary McLean met Ralph C. Wilson Jr. in 1990, they got married in 1999, they had no children together. It was tennis that brought Mary and Ralph Wilson together, Ralph Wilson met Mary McLean, a Texas native, at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York, where she worked as a tennis instructor. Mary Wilson has carried on her husband’s legacy through the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation, which supports initiatives in caregiving, community assets, youth sports, and design and access — issues that were important to Ralph Wilson, who owned the Buffalo Bills football franchise. Mary Wilson serves at the Ralph Wilson Foundation Bills Board of Trustees, as well as trustee of the Strong Museum in Rochester, is the president of the National Senior Women’s Tennis Association, and a board member of the United States Tennis Association National Tennis and Education Foundation.She along her husband were named the Philanthropists of the Year by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County in 2007. |
