Bio | Her name is often spelled Marjorie, but her gravestone sets the record straight. It was Marjory. First appears in the 1903 US Nationals. she made the semifinals, where she was crushed 6-0 6-0 by Bessie Moore. 1906 was her last time at the Nationals. Losing doubles finalist (with Virginia Maule) at the 1905 US Nationals. They were squashed 6-0 6-1 by Homans/Neely. Marjory (Marjorie or Margery) played for Merion Cricket Club. She was married to Newlin Mcconnell in about 1906 or 1907, as the 1910 census indicates they had been married for 3 years. and were living in Haddonfield, Camden, New Jersey. |
