Bio | Pous Tió won the gold medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería by defeating compatriot Nuria Llagostera Vives in straight sets. She won 20 ITF titles in singles and nine in doubles. At the WTA level she was a singles runner-up at the 2012 Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Fés, Morocco, losing the final in two sets to Kiki Bertens. In 2007 she played a doubles match for the Spanish Fed Cup team against Russia. Pous Tió reached her career-high singles ranking of No. 72 in January 2012. She was able to qualify in the individual in all four Grand Slam tournaments for the main draw, however, she came - with the exception of the US Open 2011 - never beyond the first round. In the same year she reached the side of her compatriot Lourdes Domínguez Lino also in the double of the French Open for the first time the second round. Together with her she had in April 2007 in Moscow also their only use for the Spanish Fed Cup team, the team lost Russia with 0-5. Since retiring from an ITF tournament in Caserta, Italy, in May 2017, she has not participated in any professional tournament. |
