Bio | She is a Japanese former professional tennis player. When she was a student at Meiji University in 1966, she won the All Japan University Championship in both hard tennis and soft tennis. A native of Tokyo, Yagahara was the singles winner at the 1971 All Japan Tennis Championships and won a further six national titles during her career in women's doubles. Yagahara was a member of the Japan Federation Cup team during the 1970s, amassing wins in 11 singles and 12 doubles rubbers. She also represented Japan at the Asian Games and won six medals: In 1974 in Tehran at Asian Games she won bronze medals in doubles, in mixed doubles and in the team competition, in 1978 in Bangkok she won gold medal in the team competition, silver medal in doubles and bronze medal in mixed doubles. On the professional tour, Yagahara competed in the main draw of all four grand slam tournaments. After retirement, she founded the Big K Tennis School. Yagahara runs the Big K tennis in Tokyo and has coached many Japanese professional players include Hiroko Mochizuki, Misumi Miyauchi , Futaba Kubota , Saori Obata , Nami Urabe, Satoko Kurioka, Kaori Aoyama, Reimi Takase , Yurika Sema, Erika Sema , Mari Inoue, Kumiko Iijima, Remi Tezuka, Eguchi . Misa , Yuuki Ito She was a councillor at Meiji University . |
