Bio | She was one of the best Hungarian ladies in the 1930s, She won the national champion in singles in 1937 and she reached the 2nd round in Wimbledon in 1938. She played her first tournament in 1919, but even in 1948 she was still a member of the champion team. She was 6 times national doubles champion (with Lászlóné Schréder), and also won twice the mixed doubles title. After the war she had two additional women’s doubles title with Zsuzsa Körmöczy (1946) and Hidassyné (1947). She has also won the international women's doubles title 3 times. She won 8 team championships, 5 times with BLKE before World War II, and 3 times (1946-48) with her new club BEAC after the war. Her family was prosecuted during the communist era in the first part of the 1950s. She left the country after the 1956 revolution and died in Brussels. |
