Bio | Her father was Alexander (Othon) Contostavlos, her mother was Julie (Ioannis) Scaramanga. She was ranked number two in French woman's tennis in 1927. She married Jean (Dimitrios) Nicolopoulo (1909 - 1976) on May 19, 1928 in Marseille, France. Her active years was between 1922-1933. The Greek cousin of Diddie Vlasto. Her parents were both Greek; they came to Marseille for business. Described as the 5th ranked player in France in 1924 and 3rd in 1926. She was in the semifinals in 1925 and QF 1926 in Paris. She was a Wimbledon quarterfinalist in 1926 and 1928. In 1928 she upset 5th seed Kea Bouman 12-10 8-6 in the third round on the way to the last 8. She was ranked No. 1 in Greece in 1929 and 1930. Won the 1931 Metropole International. |
