Bio | She is an American tennis player. Bektas has won one singles title on the WTA Challenger Tour along with seven singles and 25 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Bektas made her Grand Slam main-draw debut at the 2016 US Open in the mixed doubles with Evan King; they fell in the first round. The following year, she also had her debut at the 2017 US Open, where she partnered with Amanda Anisimova in women's doubles as a wildcard pair; they also fell in the first round. Her biggest singles win to date came at the 2017 Coleman Vision Tennis Championships in Albuquerque defeating Sofia Kenin en route to the 2017 Albuquerque ITF W80 title. She qualified into the main draw in her Grand Slam singles debut at the 2022 Australian Open, losing in the first round to Liudmila Samsonova. She knocked out two former Top 100 players in Katie Boulter and Christina McHale to make it through her first ever Grand Slam qualifying event. She reached her first WTA Tour doubles final in April at the 2022 Copa Colsanitas partnering Tara Moore. She also qualified for the Wimbledon Championships, making her debut at this major where she lost to Bianca Andreescu, in the first round. She won the WTA 125 2023 Abierto Tampico defeating Anna Kalinskaya, and reached the top 100, on November 6, 2023. She became the fourth oldest player to reach the milestone. |
