Bio | Edith was at her peak in 1909 and 1910. She won the Northern Champs in 1909, also reaching the SF of the Championships. The next year she performed even better, fighting her way to the All-Comers final, falling before Dorothea Lambert Chambers 6-4 6-2. Chambers then beat Boothby 6-2 6-2 in the Challenge round. We can trace the outline of her career activity through the Championships. In all Edith competed at Wimbledon 14 times. From 1901 to 1914 she missed only one year-1903. She was entered in the draw in 1921, but defaulted her match. |
