Bio | Michael Estep came to Rice University with many junior tennis victories under his belt, and he continued to succeed on the court in college. He was the Southwest Conference Singles and Doubles Champion in 1970, an NCAA semifinalist in both singles in 1970 and doubles in 1968, and an NCAA finalist in singles in 1969. He also received All-American honors for three consecutive years from 1969 to 1971, with an honorable mention in 1968. After earning a B.A. in political science in 1971, Estep joined the professional tennis circuit, gathering eight singles titles and 16 doubles titles throughout his 12-year professional career. Nationally ranked, he often lent his talents to the World Team Tennis program, playing for the Boston Lobsters.
