Bio | A compelling player who wore a trademark white cap and produced his ground strokes off both sides with two hands, McMillan won three of the four majors in men’s doubles and was a superb Davis Cup competitor as well. He won Wimbledon three times with partner Bob Hewitt. He had extraordinary touch at the net and could create angles on his volleys and returns that stretched the imagination. Altogether, McMillan took 74 titles in doubles in the Open Era, a feat surpassed by only John McEnroe and Tom Okker. Frew was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1992. |
