Biography

He was only a seven-year-old boy when his mother initiated him into the tennis world. His idols were the Four Musketeers, in especial Jean Édouard Borotra.
As a French tennis player he took part in 21 Davis Cup matches between 1947 and 1953. He scored/marked 11 victories. His best result in the world of Grand Slams was a participation in QF at Roland Garros in 1949. His father, namely Kabyle Muslim Mehana Abdesselam, was an attorney at the Paris Court of Appeal. He obtained a law degree at the Law Faculty of Paris. In 1937 and 1938 he was a junior French tennis champion.
His tennis skills developed very quickly and well that was stopped by the arrival of the Second World War. He was the vice president of the FFT (Federation Française de Tennis) between 1968 and 1974; what’s more, he was also the vice president of the International Federation of Tennis from 1974 till 1975. He was the head of the International Lawn Tennis Club (ILTC) for 10 years (from 1993 till 2004). In 2004 he became the honorary president of ILTC.
