Bio He started as a ballboy at Santos Tennis Club in 1943, and became one of the best students of Professor Vadico, who had adopted him when he was just 4 years old.

He became one of the great Brazilian tennis players, and won several titles in Brazil and South America. He lived in sports for over thirty years competing with the great names of tennis of the time, such as Maneco Fernandes, Alcides Procópio and Mary Habicht, with whom formed a victorious duo. He considered the greatest thrill of his life the victory over Maneco Fernandes on July 28, 1955, at the 25th Santos City Open. At this tournament, he reached the final 9 times between 1955 and 1970 and won the title 5 times in 1961, 1963, 1965-67.

In 1970, he was called to participate in the Davis Cup alongside players Koch and Mandarino.

His greatest joy was teaching tennis to children, which he did from the age of 17 helping to reveal big names in national tennis. The greatest sadness was to have been classified as a professional in 1956, becoming the youngest tennis player in Brazil, which made him unable to represent the country for several years.

After leaving competitions, he became a tennis teacher. He died on March 31, 1998, in Santos, leaving his wife Wilma Muniz de Almeida Moreira and their children Olivia Cristina Moreira Martins Franco, Luiz Antonio Muniz de Almeida Moreira and Katiane Moreira Costa.

His body has been in the Mausoleum of the Amateur Sportsman since May 29, 2005 and his achievements are recorded in the book "The Tennis in Brazil" by Gianni Carta and Roberto Marcher released in 2004.
