Bio She is a Japanese tennis player. She was born in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture, but moved to California, USA when she was 2 years old due to her father's job.

She started playing tennis at the age of 7. From the age of 10 in 1983, she was coached by Wimbledon Championship men's singles runner-up Chris Lewis. In 2013, she made it to the quarterfinals at the US Open Women's Junior Singles and turned professional the same year.

From the 2013 US Open, she began competing in the qualifying rounds for four major tournaments. She made her debut at the 2015 US Open after qualifying. She lost in the first round to Sara Errani 6-0,6-1.

She has won eight singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. On February 3, 2020, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 157. On May 26, 2014, she peaked at No. 378 in the WTA doubles rankings.

Hibi won her first $50k tournament at the 2013 FSP Gold River Women's Challenger, defeating Madison Brengle in straight sets in the final.
